Ready, Aim, Fired?

From the AP via Fox News.com:

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Staff members of an elementary school
staged a fictitious gun attack on students during a class trip, telling them it
was not a drill as the children cried and hid under tables.

The mock attack Thursday night was intended as a learning experience
and lasted five minutes during the weeklong trip to a state park, said Scales
Elementary School Assistant Principal Don Bartch, who led the trip.

I would go absolutely ballistic if I was one of the parents. Everyone involved should be fired, and I hope some kind of criminal charges are brought against these "teachers."

How does a group of people decide that this is a good idea? I can see maybe one getting caught up in a bad decision, but a group? And someone even threw in the idea of wearing a hooded sweatshirt and jiggling the door.

Monstrously stupid.
