Today Rush Limbaugh admitted his show was just an act.

I'm confused. Rush has always said that he cheerleads the GOP. He has always said that even when they move away from conservatism they are closer to it than Democrats. Now that the Republican leadership has moved so far that Rush is considering changing that support you call him an actor? Sorry, I don't get your argument. Did I miss something?

Look, we both know all I'm looking for is for you quit tying yourself in knots and admit that Rush is just like all the other demagog's. It's totally fine, you can dislike the ilk, but have a soft spot for Rush. I dislike bubble-gum pop, but Jessica Simpson's fun to look at. Rush can be your Jessica Simpson. All I need from you is that he's no different, he's not honest, he's not real, he's an actor with a show, and the show must go on. Don't just read my words, look at his. It's a long admission that he supported on air, things that made him cringe in private. All for the sake of his show and keeping the GOP in power. You can like him, you can think he's charismatic, you can even support the goal of eternal GOP power, but you simply cannot say that he's anything other than a run of the mill demagogue, which is a case you've tried to make in the past.

It's not about "is Rush a cheerleader" I agreed with that in the long version. It's about your position in the past that he's somehow different. That he's not a demagogue, that he's intellectually honest. The transcript from his show says he's not. It says he's an actor and he has a show. That's what I'm after.

I've got no beef with the guy, he's a success and he's built that on his own. He gets mad props from me for that. But thinking he's not playing a part, not flaming emotions for gain, is like thinking Arnold Schwarzenegger is really a robot from the future.

I'd love to know who you are arguing against. I've always said that Rush's political analysis is as good as anyone's in the media. I've also said that I enjoy his show. I'm trying to understand which of these two points you think you've debunked. The reason I think politics is for the less evolved is because it is all about spin. However, discussions of principles and issues free one of the political filth. There is not a political writer or commentator on the planet who does not spin things in their favored direction. Limbaugh is a superior person to Dan Rather because he has always told you his bias upfront. Rather, Brokaw and your friends at CNN all pretend to be honest brokers of information. That being said, I'd love to meet the guy who said that Limbaugh speaks nothing but God's revealed Truth and got you so worked up.

It was you boy-o. You were on one of your anti-Michael Moore rants, I believe it was v.3, calling him a demagogue, etc. I said something to the effect that he's just the left's version of Rush and I don't take either seriously. At which point you went ballistic and started screaming, "Rush Limbaugh is no demagogue, Rush Limbaugh is no demagogue" while tearing at your hair and rending your clothes. You went on and on saying that Rush tells it like it is, he's honest, has integrity, basically that he's better than that. Well his poignant transcript shows that, while maybe that was the case at some point, he moved away from it and now that the GOP lost, he feels "liberated."

I take from your post that you agree that Rush is, in fact, a demagogue, albeit one you like, so I accept that and now feel "liberated" myself to move on.

Except for this, Rush and Micheal sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G...
